Children's Ministry @RLC

Resurrection provides a safe environment for youth of all ages to experience the centrality of faith and a relationship with God in their lives. We take seriously the responsibility given to us to provide a place that is safe and yet welcoming Children at RLC are taught that they are uniquely created by God, they are valued and dearly loved by God and deserve the deepest respect by others.

What's Going On...

On Sunday Mornings during the school year, Sunday School classes are offered for youth of all ages - digging into the timeless biblical promises of God's love and age appropriate lessons that can be applied in the lives of our youth.

Vacation Bible School 2017

Gethsemane and Resurrection Lutheran Churches are proud to be partnering this year to present “Seasons of the Church Year” Vacation Bible School, July 17-21, 9 AM-12 PM

Each day we will learn about a different season of the church year, from Advent and Christmas to the Season of Pentecost. Join us as we learn how the seasons help us to move from preparing ourselves for what God is doing for us, to God’s work being accomplished first by the one (Jesus), then the few (disciples, who have to learn to not be afraid), to all of us!

Vacation Bible School is open to all children 4 years old through entering 6th grade. The cost (suggested donation) is $10/child, $25 max/family. Snacks and crafts will be provided.

Vacation Bible School will take place at Gethsemane Lutheran Church campus located at

11560 SE Market Street Portland, Oregon  97216

Wonderful Wednesday

As part of the Wonderful Wednesday program we have an entire ministry dedicated to children called Kidz Klub. Kids eat with their families (5:30 - 6:15), gather in worship (6:15-6:30) then join the Kidz Klub in the multipurpose room (6:30 - 7:30) and then join back up with their family and they are on their way home in time for bed.

Know that your child is welcome to attend our program at any time of year.  All volunteers are screened and comply with our Child Protection Policies

For more information about the program or to explore the possibility of helping out (there are requirements to fulfill), please contact  Troy Lutz, Minister of Youth and Family Discipleship. Contact information is listed below.
